Scheduled to open in April 2020 and unfortunately delayed to coronavirus the visitor centre in Davagh Forest will enable easy access to nearby mountain bike trail routes and forest walks by day and exploration of the fantastic dark skies by night. The centre is home to an observatory equipped with a large 14″ aperture telescope perfect for observing the Universe above!

Designated as a Dark Sky Discovery Site this location is accessible by members of the public and are officially recognised as excellent places to stargaze. Such locations often have free overnight car parking, some have toilet facilities however rarely allow overnight camping.
